Jean Evans - Director of Conferences, MCI
Jean leads a team of 9 dedicated event management professionals responsible for the planning, organisation and management of all of MCI Dublin’s association client conferences and events.
Jean Evans joined MCI Dublin as Director of Conferences in August 2008. Prior to this, she worked as Trade Representative for Bord Failte (Irish Tourist Board) in Milan, covering the Italian, Greek, Cypriot and Maltese markets for a number of years. She also worked with Tourism Ireland in the USA as Business Tourism Manager.
A move back to Ireland in 2003 saw Jean take up her new role as CEO of Dublin Convention Bureau, where she served a term of nearly 5 years.
Jean has extensive below the line and above the line marketing and sales experience, and has managed many successful e-zine, direct mail and membership development campaigns. Destination branding and promotion has been a pivotal part of Jean’s past marketing roles and your conference will benefit from this expertise.
Jean was the overall Marketing and Strategy winner at the HSMAI (Hospitality Sales & Marketing Institute) Awards in 2007.
She is an active member of the Association of Irish Professional Conference Organisers (AIPCO) and is the only Irish member of the UK&I Executive Committee of the international association, ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association). Jean also sits on the board of the Association of Irish Professional Congress Organisers

Colm McGahern - Conference Sales Manager, MCI
Colm works as Conference Sales Manager in MCI’s PCO department, where he is responsible for the development of new Irish and International association and public sector client conferences and events.
Prior to joining MCI, Colm managed CMG Events, the events division of Commercial Media Group, one of Ireland’s leading B2B media companies. At its peak, this company produced up to 12 national conferences each year with conference themes and content varying from law to the environment and IT through to architecture. During his decade long career with CMG, he also worked as Marketing and New Product Development Manager for the group, which involved the research & development of new specialist online, broadcast, print and live media products.
Colm’s qualifications include a Diploma in Event Management, Diploma in Marketing, Diploma in Advertising & PR and a Certificate in Business Management.
