1. Wed. 22nd September 2010: STRATEGY WORKSHOP
Strategy is the starting point for any business, project or goal. Developing an effective, marketing strategy to create a business breakthrough in tough times is a tricky exercise which requires discipline and a clear methodology. Get it right and you will get the turnaround you need, get it wrong and you will founder.

This practical workshop starts with where you are now and then helps you map out a fresh vision. We will help you to see how best to cascade the strategy through your entire organisation and get all the moving parts working together.

You will gain the know-how to devise a clear and effective strategy for high impact, and a plan that is easy to follow, practical to implement, and measurable.

Strategy Workshop Leader: Brian O’Kane
Brian O’Kane is an expert strategist. He has written or co-written over a dozen books, including Starting a Business in Ireland and Could You Be Your Own Boss? and he is Managing Director of Oak Tree Press. Brian has a B.Comm degree from UCD and he’s currently undertaking a Masters in Entrepreneurship by research at Waterford IT. He is a Fellow of the Marketing Institute of Ireland and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. Brian was co-opted as a member of the Small Firms Association’s National Executive Council in 2007.

2. Wed. 29th September 2010: MARKETING WORKSHOP
This marketing workshop will guide you through the process of reviewing and refreshing your brand. It will assist you in developing and communicating your differentiated proposition, addressing how best to target your markets effectively, differently, cost-consciously and in a way that makes you stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons. We will look at how to position your firm versus competitors, and define marketing messaging that resonates with the people you want to influence. Recognising the financial constraints faced by most businesses right now, we will look at how to make your budget stretch far, including make the most use of the web.

You will gain a framework and guidance to help you construct a creative, unique, effective and measurable marketing plan that is tailored to your situation.

Marketing Workshop Leader: John Garner

John Garner is an experienced and successful marketing professional, who is particularly skilled at providing business people with the tools to enable them to identify and solve their own problems through clarity, constructive approaches and achievable goals. John has performed at every level of the sales and marketing process, and as Head of Marketing at David Lloyd Leisure he drove a dynamic rebranding campaign for the group across international territories.

3. Wed. 6th October 2010: IDEAS WORKSHOP
Business success is often built on a great idea, or more probably, an ongoing flow of great ideas. The best ideas are simple, and they really mark you out from the crowd.

This workshop is finely tuned, elaborate, interactive and fun. More importantly, it will unlock your imagination and your creativity, providing you with ammunition for your action plan. Ideas are great but they are only really great if they are disciplined. Our approach will help generate the ideas, and take them from thought to action in the shortest timeframe.

You will gain a powerful array of innovative ideas for immediate implementation in your business, many of which will be low cost, or no cost.

Ideas Workshop Leader: Led by Conor Kenny
Conor Kenny has worked in marketing, sales and people development for almost three decades. He excels in getting the best from people. Conor’s career started out in Kilkenny Design, and he was Group Business Development Director for the Irish Pub Company and McNally Design International. He has worked directly with many of the world's leading brands such as Baileys, Guinness and Smirnoff. He has also worked with many leisure operators at home and abroad.

4. Wed. 13th October 2010: SALES WORKSHOP

Selling is helping customers to buy. The sales process is a vital link in the chain and it has got to be strong if business results are to flow. At some point in the process the customer must make a purchase decision, whether the order is made online, over the phone, or to a salesperson who is physically present. You need to be in a position to influence this decision in your direction, and so you need to know what the customer values most and needs most at that moment.

This workshop will guide you to this understanding.

You will gain the skill to devise a sales process that can be owned, implemented and measured by the people doing the selling.
