This is a Front Office Workshop with a difference… you already know how to answer the phone, to take a reservation and to greet a customer… and you can probably do all 3 at the same time without batting an eyelid! This workshop won’t teach you the ABC of Front Office operations… it will take you a step further into the mind of the consumer, it will challenge you to think outside the box and it will give you the tools and the confidence to SELL.
The Front Office Department holds a huge responsibility within a hotel… you are the front line, the first point of contact for customers and the main representation of your hotel’s brand.

• Can you summarise your hotel brand in 1 sentence? If not, how can you represent it effectively?
• Can you answer the question, “Why should I book your hotel rather than the one up the road?”
• Can you handle the top 3 objections that all front office representatives face every day?
• Can you spot a buying signal and turn it into a sale?
• Do you have the confidence to ask for the sale?
• What makes a person decide to book a hotel break? What convinces that person to book their hotel break with you?!
• How can you adapt to the changing trends in the marketplace?
• How can you help reduce costs and increase sales for your hotel?

About Kate Howey
Kate Howey has over 10 year’s experience of the hotel and hospitality industry at a senior level and has particular strengths in dealing with the customer. She has lectured for the Marketing Institute of Ireland, University College Cork, Cork Institute of Technology and Cork College of Commerce in various business and marketing subjects as well as facilitating workshops for Failte Ireland and Leadership Management Ireland. Kate had recently joined Conor Kenny & Associates as their Sales expert.
Kate specializes in creating and implementing Sales & Marketing Strategies for small to medium businesses, predominantly in tourism related industries.
An honours graduate of University College Wales, Kate went on to do post graduate studies in International Trade & Marketing. An avid workshop attendee herself, Kate has attended literally hundreds of business workshops, lectures and evening classes and is a keen reader of business books and industry journals. Kate brings her unique knowledge and enthusiasm to every workshop.
Kate lives near Kinsale in county Cork with her partner Tony with their 3 lively children!
