O'Brien Chop House Summer Newsletter
Well, depending upon who's seasonal calendar you follow it's almost the end of the summer, but what a past few month's it's been. First at the Regional RAI awards we picked up a "Best Service Award" and then in the National finals we scooped the "Most Innovative Restaurant" award. But, we're certainly not sitting back on our laurels and are planning lots of exciting events as we head into Autumn.
First, on the 22nd July we are holding a Charity Beer & Curry Feast at Ballyvolane House, our usual Beer & Curry Feast will return to the Chop House on Friday 26th August.
Also in August we will be holding a Foraging expedition with Andrew Malcolm who roots around in the forests and on the sea-shores to bring us lots of wild edible goodies.
During September & October as well as our last Friday of the month Curry Feasts we will also host a "Nose to Tail Butchery with Frank Krawczyk" event and a "Homage to local Beer" night.

A Homage to Beer
In conjunction with the local micro-breweries; The Dungarvan Brewing Company and Mitchelstown's Eight Degrees Brewery
we will be hosting a Feast where each of the dishes incorporate beer as one of the main ingredients of each dish using the beers from these superb local artisan producers. Dishes such as 'Howling Gale Ale Summer Vegetable Tempura, Sweet Chilli Sauce' and 'Beef, Oyster & Black Rock Stout Pie' are two fine examples. Each dish will be accompanied by a drop of the relevant brew and wines can be ordered as required to accompany the Feast. We are still working on the menu but tickets will be priced at €42.50 and are available on 058 53810 or email us.

Nose to Tail Butchery with Frank Krawczyk
This event is split into two seperate parts (and the piggie into many more) and you are welcome to take part in both or just one or the other.
Starting on Saturday 8th October the great Frank Krawczyk (father of O'Brien Chop House Chef Robbie Krawczyk) will show you how to turn a pig into lots of yummy foodie delights like handmade sausages, bacon, chops, roasts, and much more besides. Held at Ballyvolane House this event will include a light lunch. Then on the following Friday 14th October we will host a "nose to tail" Piggie Feast at O'Brien Chop House.

We would like to thank our customers, suppliers and staff for all their fantastic support this spring and summer. The scruffy secret garden out the back is looking fantastic at the moment and ideal for dining outdoors - when it stops raining! Don't forget Lismore is a gem with Lismore Castle Gardens & Arts, Lismore Heritage Centre and some amazing scenic West Waterford Walks to 'walk-off' lunch afterwards.
Looking forward to welcoming to O'Brien Chop House soon.
Best wishes,
Justin, Richard, Robbie & the gang at O'Brien Chop House
