Michelin Guide’s ‘Bib Gourmand’ for O’Brien Chop House
|
 |
The Michelin Guide 2010 has just been published and O’Brien Chop House was awarded a prestigious BIB GOURMAND 2010. We are delighted and it is due to the dedication and commitment and dazzling cooking skills of Eddie Baguio and his team in the kitchen and Elaine Aherne, the restaurant manager and her team out front. We are delighted and share this award with them.
The guide awards one to three stars to a small number of restaurants of outstanding quality and we are delighted to see The Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore has just been given a Michelin Star. It is a huge achievement and we have been big fans of what Martin is doing in the kitchens at The Cliff House and the award is well deserved.
Since 1955, the Michelin Guide has also highlighted restaurants offering “good food at moderate prices’, a feature now called “Bib Gourmand”. They must have a menu priced at mo more than €40. The Bib (Bibendum), the Michelin Man, has been Michelin’s logo for over a century.

Paddy’s Day at O’Brien Chop House - Good Food, Trad Music & Song
|
 |
We are planning an Irish night at our restaurant O’Brien Chop House in Lismore. We have found that we celebrate Paddy’s Day really well when abroad but when at home, Paddy’s Day is often been a damp squib. We are going to change all that by throwing a party at O’Brien Chop House on the 16th & 17th of March 2010.
Stay at Ballyvolane for two nights and join the party at the Chop House on March 16th. Transport will be provided free of charge so you can embrace your Irishness by enjoying a few pints.
Feast on delicious traditional robust Irish food and drink while our house trad-band will perform, then after dinner, sing your favourite Irish songs - song sheets will be provided in case you don’t know the words.
Arrive on Tuesday, 16 March, depart on Thursday, 18 March.
PRICE: €319 - €329 per person
INCLUDES:
- » 2 nights accommodation with a lazy full Irish breakfast each morning
- » 3-course dinner, music and song at O’Brien Chop House, Lismore on 16 March.
- » Transport to and from O’Brien Chop House
- » Enjoy the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Cork City on 17 March.
